Read from the front cover-xvii
For this assignment we had to read the first pages of our required text for the class. The book is called The Design Process by Karl Aspeland. In the preface, the author conveys how important it is to have a "clearly definable process" when designing. "By following a path...a project's development becomes clearer, easier to navigate, and more assured"(pg. xiii). I completely agree. A design has a beginning and an end. You start with an idea which becomes your goal. You then must define the paths that will lead you to meet that goal. The author has established what he believes will be the process to acheiving a successful and completed creation. In the following page, the author breaks down the steps for us and provides us with a brief description of each concept that is going to be learned. I am looking forward to reading this book and getting more of an in depth look at the author's ideas.
